
The excavations are exploring the remains of a Late Roman/Byzantine-era synagogue and an associated village. In the past several years, Huqoq has received wide coverage in the media for the discovery fine, colored mosaics in the synagogue, including the unprecedented appearance of a Greek king, perhaps Alexander the Great.
